Admission is based on a thorough assessment of our residents prospective health and social needs for care and services. This is intended to equip our prospective resident and their representatives with the best possible information to make and informed choice.

If our prospective resident is already in touch with a social service, this initial assessment will be undertaken as part of their care management process. The care manager will consult with their family and their GP and they in turn will contact us. We will also need to assure ourselves and our prospective resident that the home is suitable for them.

If you approach one of our care homes directly, appropriately trained staff will make a full assessment of the needs calling, with our prospective residents permission, on specialist advice and reports as necessary. All information will be treated confidentially.

Depending on suitability and vacancies a decision to offer a place is made within seven days.

We offer all prospective residents the opportunity to visit our homes, talk to current residents, join us for a meal and move in for a trail period with us.  Friends, family and other representatives are also encouraged to visit our homes before making a final decision.

If, in exceptional circumstances, an emergency admission is requires a full information and assessment process will be carried out within 5 days.  The new resident will be briefed within 48 hours about rules, routines and key aspects of the home.
